I have bought a few, including a couple directly from Nikon. I have had no issues with any. The biggest difference is that you don't get the five year warranty, but you do get at least 90 days. Best of luck.
I ordered a Nikon DX refurbished lens for a friend when I bought a new one for myself. Different lenses though. His only came with the 90 day warranty, that has passed. But, it still works OK for him today. It was about 1/2 the price of a Brand New one.
I have one refurbished and one used. Both continue to work good as new.

Yeah, I have a 28-300 that was a Nikon factory refurb. Zero problems.

Yes I have. I have ONE.
Here is why I do not have more than one. Some of my Nikon lenses I use every day hard. My 200-500 for example, I bought new, it came with a 5 YEAR WARRANTY (refurbished only comes with 90 days). Well, I had some issues with the 200-500 about 13 months after I bought it, bottom line, I had to send it in 4 times to get it fixed right. Nikon was great, they paid the postage. BUT, had I bought it refurbished, I would have had to pay for all the repairs, which would have been around $600.00, and it was a Nikon issue, I did nothing to it. Modern lenses are much more complicated than older manual focus lenses, a lot more electronics, gears, and memory chips, so, much more can go wrong.
So, it all comes down to how much of a chance you want to take. Now, I have never had any issues with the refurbished Nikon lens I bought, but, YOU NEVER KNOW.
Not a problem buying refurb lenses. Cameta offers a one year warranty on them.
I’ve bought lenses refurbished by Nikon and haven’t had any problems.
I bought a Nikon 10-20 zoom from Nikon when they had a refurbished sale. I had wanted this lens for a long time. The sale made it so inexpensive I couldn’t afford not to buy. A total cost of $242 plus tax. No problems, it has worked great and I am glad I bought it.
I have several. Never had an issue with any of them. I usually look to Cameta since they add nine months to the Nikon 90 day warrranty. Also, many sellers of factory refurbished lenses will sell extended warranties if you are really concerned about product failure.

Yes! All good experiences.
I have bought my lenses from KEH , they have a warranty but also offer an extended warranty also.
I will add my experience to the list: I bought a refurb 18-140 Nikon from B&H and it has been just fine.

Yes. Good. Cameta offers 12 month on refurbs. And Extended Warranties work. Perhaps if the big lens had been a refurb...the problems would have been found and corrected before it left Nikon. That also happens with refurbs, besides being checked over and repacked, they fix its issues.
Bought a refurbished 70-200mm FL direct from Nikon. Looks like a brand new lens. The only items you don’t get is the manual and the soft case. No big deal to me.
