Your skyline shot is fabulas. The MidWay shot gave me thought that a little longer expsure might help brighten the ship but lengthining the time would blow out iluminated areas like the number 41 on the tower and all of the security lighting. I think you know what you're doing.
Keep on doing it.

Quit your day job, take classes and become a professional photographer, follow your dream, life is too short, i'm 68 and have no idea where it went, and kick myself every time i pick up my cameras wishing i followed my oun advice to you. Real nice work, education is a must.
