I'll post pics of yesterday's show pics later today or Tuesday night after I buy a new computer mouse (it's a pain trying to do this with a touchpad). One will be a tight crop, but all others will be SOOC - show pics may or may not be be processed. I'll definitely put one of these or another on my wall, probably in a frame with my souvenir boarding pass. Enjoy! There were several others I wanted to put up (bomb bay, etc, but I think UHH restricts images per post)

The first two pics are awesome, the rest are merely great. What a cool set and man am I jealous.
I got red carpet treatment shooting one in Venice Fl. A year ago and got to crawl around inside but only on the ground. Looking forward to more shots of the show.

I enjoyed all 24 or so minutes of the flight. On the Oshkosh pic, Fond du Lac is in the foreground - we took off from Appleton. My parents winter in Venice, FL. If you're an EAA member and you pre-book, it's $409, $435 on site, but they usually sell out. If you're not an EAA member you can still buy a ticket, but it's more expensive ($30 or $40), but includes a one-year membership. EAA has several subsections each with different additional subscription rates, magazines, etc, like Warbirds, Vintage, Homebuilt, Seaplane - probably one or two others. I have a couple of Oshkosh posting up now and am processing more now. I have one pic done, but want to have several at once. Before fighter escort the average B-17 lasted only 7 missions and, per sortie, the loss rate was like 30%.

My mother’s brother was a tail gunner on a B-17 that was shot down on December 9, 1944 while on a bombing run over Germany. He along with 7 of the 8 other crew members bailed out of the plane and were taken prisoner by the German’s. The pilot of the plane went down with the plane and died.

My uncle rarely talked about the war and his time as a prisoner of war. On the rare occasion he spoke about his experience, he mentioned that he never wanted to be that cold or hungry ever again.

I have been able to find out a lot of information about the aircraft and crew members that my uncle flew on. It has filled in a lot of the gaps in our family’s knowledge of my uncle’s time as a POW.

The Greatest Generation.

My Dad had an uncle that flew B-17s in WWII, I didn't get to know about that until after my great uncle passed away. He was shot down once near the French coastline and was rescued by Resistance Forces and returned to England to fly again. Thank you to all who served for your sacrifices.

Back then, it was check the gas and fill up the oil. I crewed F-4 Phantoms in the Air Force, among others. Spent alot of time complaining about different maintence jobs. Now, I miss the work and fun of the old girls. I've heard some of the same from guys who worked on these. FiFi, one of only two flyable B-29s stopped in at the Indianapolis regional airport in 2016. I couldn't afford a seat for a ride, but took the crawl through option. I used to think it was bad in today's aircraft! We had it easy compared to the stuff it takes to keep those two in the air. Thanks for those great shots.

On my FB page, under the Oshkosh '17 album I have a pic of Doc and Fi-Fi flying in formation, although the props are frozen...still one of my faves. Doc started selling flights not long ago. $600 and $1,500 for seats. The $1,500 seats (Bombardier's seat) were sold out when I asked about them - not that I could remotely consider paying for the chance. I had two of my OSH '17 pics autographed last week. Team Aeroshell, that was chosen as Picture of the Week in April in an aviation e-newsletter, and a shot of Kirby Chambliss (Red Bull Air Force) doing one of his photo passes. I'll be posting several more pics on FB as I go through them, trying not to pick too many shots of a particular plane...unless I thing they're really cool pics, of course (e.g. F-22).

Beautiful shots! Just sent my parents on a B-24 in August. I think they took some photos. I hope they got some good ones! Keep up the great work!
