Nancy, good question. Rarely do surfers ride long boards at the pier in Huntington but quite often you see long boards at places like Doheny and San Onofre which are South of Huntington. It's all predicated on the waves. San Onofre and Doheny are both better waves for long boards.

Bobby, if you don't know how to surf and you are old, I would NOT suggest trying it. Sorry to be negative but it's a very difficult sport to pick up even being young.
