I don't know what it is you're talking about, maybe explain a little what this device is, or what it is that it supposed to do!

Sorry,it is a magnifier so you can see your shot before you take it & it makes it easier to see what you shot if it is real bright outside. Here is a photo of it.

Yeah, that is why I was confused, I thought it may be a viewfinder loupe, that one attaches to the viewfinder (I have several for my cameras ( they actually screw onto the viewfinder! But what you have is an LCD magnifier, a device, one just holds against/cover the LCD screen on back of the camera, it is not used with the viewfinder, its mostly for use in bright light. There are several versions of this, just hand hold, some that attach via sticky tape and some that attach via tripod mount (they actually come with "bars"/cage attached, that in return mount to the tripod socket!

Call the dealer that you purchased it from and ask for a refund or options to fix it. Maybe they have seen this issue before and can provide guidance.

I purchased it on eBay for a great price so I guess I will use it around my neck!

I use a couple that attach to the tripod socket. These I have seem illustrated with the long lanyard looped under then over the camera body hooked over the loupe. Try it.

Marilyng,

Look up this item on Amazon. You will find some information about sticking it on the LCD viewfinder and problem/solutions. Hope that helps.

Personally I wouldn't want to "stick it" to a camera. It would be a pain storing the camera in your bag, with the risk of it becoming detached when trying to store it.
I would imagine two rubber bands placed vertically around the camera would do the trick. The picture of the loupe seems to show a flat foot, which goes against the camera. slip these under the rubber bands and your good to go.

I wear my camera when I am shooting on a strap so I don’t store it in a bag until I am finished shooting but I will try the rubber bands ,thanks.I was even thinking about some Velcro attached to both parts of the loupe.I thought it would be helpful for my macro photography.
