Anyone have experience with this lens, Nikon has it for sale at $507.00. Is this a good deal and is this a good lens to have for shooting long distance or is there a better choice.
I have that lens if its the FX version. Its on sale new at B&H as well as other places for $596.99. Its a great lens for my D500.
I have a friend who doesn't use his Nikon gear anymore, who upon learning I had switched to Nikon from canon, insisted I borrow his. I have the 70-200 f4 and I expected to see a lot of difference between the two, but I was really surprised at how well it performed on my 810. I had no qualms about borrowing it again just last week.

I use the lens with my D500 when I'm after dragon flies.

Since it is a P series lens, make sure it is compatible with the body you will be using. You can check the compatibility on Nikon's website.
I bought one to test a hunch that AF-P might focus more accurately and consistently than at least the run-of-the-mill AF-S lenses. I think it does. So far, it looks like a very good lens.

I use that lens on a D500 & D7200, very happy with it.
Great lens. Now use it on my D850.

I DO NOT own this lens, but in my opinion $507.00 is quite high for this lens, shop around I am almost positive you will find a lower price, although I could be mistaken too.

There are multiple versions of the 70-300 AF-P. Two are DX and one is FX. The OP is clearly referring to the FX version which has a retail price of $750. The DX versions are much less expensive.

Ok, that make sense why the price seemed to me to be a bit on the High side.
My Grandson D3400 AF-P 70-300 did not cost him $507.00, in fact his was part of a 2 lens kit with his D3400.
