Most of these beautiful old fences I loved are a thing of the past.
They’re all beautiful but the first one really captivates.
At least your photographs are helping to keep them alive in our memories. Beautifully captured!
Fences and flowers! What a lovely combination. I really enjoyed your beautiful and well done series.

I'm glad you enjoyed my fences and I thank you all for your kind comments.
Hi Luen -- I guess that you feel about fences the way I feel about the rock walls here in New England. They've been there for years, often covered with lichen. You often see them in the woods and wonder which farmer outlined his property boundaries that way, and think of all the labor involved so many years ago. Thanks for sharing your pictures of fences. I guess we're both sentimentalists. -- Jackie

Thank you, Jackie. I actually photographed an old rock wall in Connecticut years ago. You are right. I am sentimental about a lot of these old things that are disappearing.

Thanks for posting that zig zag fence Luen, I had never seen one like that before, but now I realize
it is quite an interesting geometry since you don't need any posts to keep it standing !
Yes indeed, those fences are quite unique and interesting but whenever I see them posted here I always wonder how many trees were cut down to create them.
Wonderful set, Luen! With your photos, this will not be forgotten, just missed.
