Saturn redo from July 1st

I reran my data from July 1st this time using Autostakkert3! to see if I liked the results better.
I processed a 20,000 frame AVI and selected the best 1000 frames for stacking.
I exported it to Registax6 for wavelet adjustment.
I then pulled it into Photoshop CC and changed the DPI from 72 to 350 DPI.
This is uncropped from that increase and saved as a PNG. File size is pretty large at 8.5 meg so it may be slow to load.
Color is a bit questionable but I really like the shadow on Saturn from the rings that I was able to pull.

I reran my data from July 1st this time using Auto... (show quote)

Nice...I think you have peaked, next step is to use an ADC. I’ve seen some with/without pix, it really makes a big difference. I think your Jupiter’s would really show a Hubble type detail with it.

It's a stunner, I've not had the opportunity this year yet Jim. Showing those processing skills.

Very nice! I like the ring detail. I've been using a monochrome camera with a filter wheel because the planets are just too low right now for my color camera without an ADC. But...I finally got my ZWO ADC in the mail after waiting over 2 months for the backorder to be filled so, the next clear night I'll try the color camera again to see if there's a difference from the last time I tried the color camera...that didn't go so well.

Let’s us know your thoughts on the ADC, what mount will you be using?

OK, help me catch up...
What's an ADC?

Beautiful Saturn image, Jim!

Atmospheric Dispersion Corrector

I’ve seen some comparisons, seems to make a giant improvement.

Ah-Ha!
What is it? Like a filter?
I've seen how the air can dance a visual all over the place.

Thanks,
I think I am getting pretty close to what I expect to pull with the equipment and software that I use.
I'm not sure if I can justify the cost of an ADC at this time.
If anything, I should probably invest in better software but maybe not.

Thank you.
I keep thinking I am going to get to play and each time the clouds gather and laugh.
It's that time of year.

Thank you.
Keep us in the loop as to the testing and if it was worth the cost.

Thank you very much Sonny.
I see that everyone has caught you up with the ADC.
I think for now I can live with what I am pulling in at the price point I am at.
I'm looking forward to some of the tests from Northcoast.

Thank you very much.
I am starting to get a better handle on the subtle tweaking and a little less ham fisted.
I redid a Jupiter sequence last night that turned out quite well and is now my desktop image.
I'll keep watching to see how the ADC testing goes.

You can get an improvement in planetary images by splitting the RGB channels, aligning them then stacking them to eliminate some of the diffraction distortion. Not maybe as good as an ADC but a reasonable improvement nonetheless.

A good article (and review) of ADC at https://astronomyconnect.com/forums/articles/zwo-atmospheric-dispersion-corrector-product-review.34/.
