My name is Joseph from the USA but lived in Thailand for the past 8 years. I did about 5 years as a professional photographer, but I'm new to Digital photography. I just bought a Nikon D5100.
Eager to hear how you like your Nikon d5100. I have been comparing it with the D7000. Hard to decide! Hope you will share your experiences as you get acquainted with yours better! Looking forward to seeing some of you shots!

Hi Joseph and welcome. I also was a pro, but a long time ago. I got into digital 4 years ago. It has been fun but a long ride for me. Getting the camera under control and then learning how to turn the computer on. :) I am still old school and try to get it right in the camera. My computer skills with PP need a lot of work. I just do simple fixes right now. Still have a long ways to go to get fancy in the PP.

Hi Joseph,
Welcome to UHH. It's a great place to learn.
I have a D5100 also, had it around 9 months.
It is a good camera & I think you will enjoy
using it, use your manual & youtube always
has some good videos to help you learn. :)
I 've had a D5100 for about a year. It's a really nice camera, but I am still learning how to use it. Read the manual, read it again, and then buy other books to help you understand how it works. Surprisingly, I've found the "Idiot's Guide" to the D5100 to be very helpful. Have fun, and welcome to UHH!
