... even among our favored camera stores. I was about to buy a large ticket item. Since it was Nikon I knew the price is the price. My go to store had a 2% reward while a competitor offered 4%. I figured easy peasy, I'll just contact the 2%er. They wouldn't match the reward, and it took them 24hrs to reply.
It doesn't really matter who was who. They were among the top three (C A B) and tomorrow it could go the other way. But do check before hitting that enter button.

Just wondering, ever try Cameras etc. in Newark, Del? I have had good luck with them.

No I haven't. I had heard of the place, but could never find a real web presence. In this day and age that does not bode well with me.
I feel like if I want to call them I'll have to dig out my grandmother's black rotary phone.
I haven't been able to find what the difference is between an imaging dealer and a professional dealer. They are not listed as the latter.

40 years of shopping at the Wilmington store. Not the same since Jim retired and sold the business. Wilmington store closed, and new owners at Newark. Went there once - felt like they weren't really interested in the customer service side.
Only one other customer in the store at the time, and still got the bum's rush.
Cardinal Camera on Baltimore Pike (Brinton Lake "mall") not much better.

Since you’re on the east coast you’re probably looking for a more local source.
In CA. I usually do my shopping at Samy’s Camera. Their internet sales are handled out of LA but they do have about 5 stores. I’ve never physically been to one.
Most recently I ordered 2 modeling bulbs, some film and two used strip lights. I called to see if they had a grid to fit my strip light. They didn’t but for the price of a grid I bought two used strip light and one with grid. Both for $75.
I ordered 4 rolls of ISO 100 film. I received ISO 400. When I called about the film they sent me 4 new rolls and told me to keep the 400 for a cloudy day!!!
Samy’s has always kept me happy. I only go to the NY stores when Samy’s doesn’t have it. I gladly pay my tax to help my schools. You wouldn’t pay tax, at least not yet! LoL

I'm not looking for anything, I was just asked if I had tried the Delaware store.
I was happy with B&H, Adorama, and Cameta when I lived in NY and shopped in the stores, and paid sales tax. Now, sales tax is not an issue because Delaware has none. My very first digital camera came from Cameta, a Minolta d'Image.
If someone opened a decent camera store in Dover I would shop there.

Sorry that you had this experience. I recently purchased two Nikkor lenses from B&H. Competitive price, plenty of information, prompt shipping, follow-up quality survey, etc. Sometime later (actually to my surprise), I received an email from B&H regarding a Rewards Gift Card.
In part, the message reads, "Congratulations! You have earned B&H Rewards points in the amount of $127.76 which has been issued to you as an E-Rewards Card. We appreciate your patronage...."
I personally think this was a very nice perk. This is the kind of treatment I always receive from B&H.

I've just ordered a Pentax K1 from a German store but not before subscribing to their news letter 3% off your first order :)
It also helps that german VAT is 19% and Ireland is at 23% another 4% saved.
B&H has a good price on the k1 and they throw in the battery grip but after over 400 euro's of duty and shipping it was too expensive. I was going to go for a refurb from ricoh but it was still higher than my final deal for a new K1 with and just 6 Months warranty. I will get 12 months European Warranty with the camera I bought although it may be 24 months when registered with ricoh. Amazon had some good prices used and it makes a difference which store you buy through. The new price for the k1 is more than for the k1 Mk II.
The k1 MK II has improved autofocus higher ISO and noise reduction which can't be turned off seems due to the new board they have added. The noise reduction was a turn off for me. Funny thing the 645z medium format is Pentax's no1 camera but the k1 beats the k1 mk II in imaging reports evaluation.
