Road trip last week to Pittsburgh and traveled across West Virginia and the New River Gorge. Stopped to see the New River Bridge, beautiful sight. Its the largest single arch bridge in the western hemisphere and third tallest bridge in the US. They close it once time a year for Base Jumping and Rappelling, scheduled for October this year. Completed in 1977, spans 3030' above the New RIver and its 876' above the gorge...One heck of a bridge.

Beautiful shots - we really need to make a trip down there, it's not all that far from us.

Thanks Sue, nice place to hike and there's plenty of river rafting tours. Some serious whitewater downstream from the bridge though but most tours don't go that far.

It is impressive, Blaster. While you were in the area, did you swing by Babcock State Park or Hawks Nest State Park?

It is that, especially from down below, but sorry, no we didn't, we were on a schedule, but that would be a great place to explore. WV is a beautiful place with so many opportunities for outdoor activities.
