O

He was never vetted Sarge... The press never pushed him for the hard questions, the Clinton campaign tried but the press would not support their effort, then McCain chose to run his principled campaign refusing to sling mud essentially giving the president a free pass.

Who is a birther? I really don't care where the president was born as I feel that it makes little difference, but I do not feel that he ever fully answered many of the questions that surround him. He denied his associations throughout his life and the press took him at his word... You can read his books and come away with questions that would deserve further vetting and the press just walked away...

What happened in the past is of no difference.

The President has been in office for almost 4 years. We know who he is.

Some like his policies some don't. He has been veted.

This nonsense and garbage about his birthplace and college transcripts is an attempt to deligetimize his right to be in office. I strongly believe it is an expression of not only latent but blatant racism and bigotry. Something I want to believe is not as prevalent as these people are expressing. To me, it is as if the Klan is burning a cross on the lawn of the White House.

Here we go again if you aren't an Obama fan your a bigot. Give it up and quit playing the race card. Obama has set race relations back 20 years. That and his attempts to start a class war. If your not playing the race card your blaming the evil rich people or Bush.

Look up Alan Keyes on youtube. He is a blackman who describes Barry Obama as a Communist bent on destroying this country. I guess you liberals would call Alan Keyes an "uncle tom". You liberals
like to put labels on everyone who disagrees with your left wing agenda. It's the conservatives fault for apologizing "oh, I'm not a birther" or "I'm not a racist" " oh, I have friends that are gay". Call me what ever names you like.

You and I disagree on the issue of racism and bigotry, it is pretty much the same as asking for Romney's tax returns or making issue of his company's sending jobs overseas... It is pretty reasonable to assume that after 1999 Romney's involvement in Bain was greatly reduced, but it is also reasonable to assume that because he owned the company he was still the figurehead and drew salary.. big deal, that is how it works when you own a company.... Just as the issue of outsourcing jobs is being overblown, he was in the business of reorganizing and structuring companies to make profit, he would follow a plan that lead to a strengthening the balance sheet... Your own knowledge of how things work will inform you as to how those decisions were made, and you would have probably made similar decisions... it is all a smoke screen for the masses and has nothing to do with his abilities to lead the country... As president his goals would be different, they would be to strengthen the country not a corporate balance sheet and his decisions would be directed by that goal...

So... it is all political gamesmanship Sarg... not bigotry, personally for me when I see president Obama I see a man, I see a liberal, it would be rare for me to think of him as a black man, and I think that the election that swept him into office speaks to that being the view of many who oppose him for the same reasons that I do... I have spoken to many who voted for the president in 2008 who regret that vote now, and it has nothing to do with race.

Alan Keyes isn't an "Uncle Tom" (I'm sorry this term is in you rlexicon; it's not inmine); Keyes is just wrong. I do agree that much of the deep hatred against the President is based on race. Why else would something like 20% of the country believe the President is a Muslim? We are only fifty years past the civil rights legislation in the 60's. In the fifties the nation had segregated schools, segregated water fountains, segregated bathrooms. Racism does not die easily.

You know sarg, the only person I have EVER seen use the term racist, or even refer to the race of President Obama on this site is you. You sir, are the only bigot on here.

It is not an attempt to "delegitimitize" the president. It is about issues that have arisen that have never been answered properly. We do NOT know who the president is, I for one had never heard of him prior to the 2008 election. Then there are the facts (Don't you hate them facts?) that he does not like to cover his heart during the Pledge. The fact he was raised in a foreign country, and educated in a Muslim school, that raise questions. I do not believe that Obama is not a natural born US citizen, I do not believe that he is a muslim, however, the questions have been raised and never answered properly. He has refused to release his college transcripts which would prove, once and for all that he did not register as a foreign student. And I am sorry, what happened in the past does matter, especially with the president. You can say that it matters what happens in Romneys past, but not Obamas? You are a hypocrite.

People who think that the president has muslim beliefs or sympathizes with the Muslim religion do so because of his early childhood being spent in a Muslim country and being raised by his muslim stepfather, who famously introduced him to dog meat, he spent some of his most formative years growing up in a Muslim household and by his own admission attended Muslim schools... It is not just about being racists...

You didn't respond to my question on Page3 so I'll try again.

Did you take advantage of any deductions when you filed your tax return? I did. Point is, so did Mr. Romney. It is the current tax code!!! I would also bet you that Reid Pelosi and the rest of the members of the U.S. Congress who paid capital gains paid exactly the same rate as Romney. None of them would be dumb enough to tell their tax preparer to use a higher rate than is required. Would you??

I keep hearing the same thing, The rich should pay more! Duh, Change the tax law or shut up!! They haven't changed the tax law because it will cost them money!!

You may not believe you are a bigot, you sure seem like one to me.
Lets test my theory, you say you believe that he is a Muslem (which is rediclus). Why do you care? Do you beleive a Muslem can be president of the united states?
