Bee on Purple Blossom and Green Beetle on Green Beetle

These are two from my "Catch of the Day" walkaround this morning. I was actually going to take a picture of the pretty purple blossom when a black and white bee decided if it was good enough for me to photograph then it must be good enough for him to forage. Thanks to those who view and please comment as you wish.

Thanks for the kind feedback. If the heat and humidity factor here weren't so high, I could stay out in the field longer and get a lot more.

Brenda: have you researched the green beetle? Could be anomala naturalista?

Brenda, I was actually shooting for the wildflower blossom because it looked so pretty and the bee just happened to land on it so I refocused and got them both in the shot.

I have looked Allen and it does look like your suggestion but I find beetle ID so hard. Someone will know and will join in I am sure.
