The texture of heat waves... even the pavement shimmers. [when I worked in Phoenix when you stopped at a light, and proceeded slowly on green the pavement "kissed" your tires !!]
The vibration of your photo says HOT !

Wow! Impact or what? This 'in your face' image really works well - love your processing. Wish I could think of doing this sort of thing sometimes!

I don't know if I would have made the conscious connection to heat waves and shimmering like dpullum did, so I'm glad he mentioned. I want to say "very cool idea!" but would that be cruel, Keni?

Thank you sir. I was doing the pp in LR and i kept thinking man it was hot that day and wanted to be able to show the heat but I wanted most of the flower to stay in focus. I switched over to Photoscape and began playing with the effects. I wasnt sure how to do it so I tried several different things. I finally crystallized it then used a zoom effect, adjusting the radius to keep the center in focus. It was fun.

Your point comes across very nicely. I think it is wonderful that you kept the center sharp. The point of view is also great. The flower is not looking directly at us. It keeps us engaged; but makes the scene more dynamic than a straight on shot.

Thank you Erich. One of the things I did was adjust the perspective so that the flower was looking more up at the sun than in the original shot. That is part of the reason why I cropped it so close, to effect that change. I thought back on our discussion about slowing down and being more thoughtful in my approach as well as RG's lesson of not staying within any specific ratio and letting the picture tell me where to crop. I really can't tell you all how much I appreciate all the things I am learning from everyone.

Glad that you are having so much fun with our hobby. It kind of gets under your skin a bit, doesn't it?
