Plant hopper

Saw this plant hopper and thought at first it was small moth. Did not get a good picture in the field so captured it and took some magnified views. Turned out it was a plant hopper of family Derbidae. Paramysidia mississippienis.

First picture top view of front wings. Second picture view the head from below showing the antenna insertion below the eyes and a short terminal segment of the beak.

Both are stacks taken with a Nikon 200 mm f4 lens with a Raynox DCR-250 conversion lens.

The grid has one millimeter spacing.

Amazing moth mimic. Even to the rubbed thorax.
