Vintage,,,,, These Tools have been in my life since I was 12 years old (yes back in the day 12 year old kids worked). The saw has been replaced by my chainsaw but I still use it occasionally. As for the wedge, well I have access to a splitter but prefer splitting with the wedge, it belongs to my woodstove culture and the best time is in the spring while the logs are still frozen.....right now I have about 9 cords prepared for the upcoming winter. Ah yes, Saturday afternoons..''split 'n sip'' love this life

Love the hook, RR. I have a similar tool that also belonged to my Grandpa that was used for handling the old style hay bale. One that a youngster could use to help throw a bale up onto a wagon as it drove by. I always wanted to get this particular one that had the right bends and heft to it that a 12 or 13 year old could impress all the neighbor men that were helping put up the hay. Not a lot of split'n had to be done, and not a lot of sip'n either. A lot of gulping of water out of the community water pail and dipper. Didn't worry much then about pass'n on germs......everybody was neighbors.

Hi, dane. Thanks for hosting. Interesting subject. I have a few but maybe not as vintage as yours. Some vintage household tools very familiar to women.

Pat I remember got my fingers in the ringer

i have a storage unit full of my father and grandfathers tools in florida...unfortunately i'm in ct. i go "visit" them occasionally. i'm probably one of the few people dumb enough to keep stuff in storage over 10 years , shelling out $9000.00 so far to keep "sentimental stuff"
