I was in Phoenix earlier this year and had the opportunity to study and photograph the Broad-tailed Hummingbird (I believe I have this right).

How did you manage to get both the flowers and the humingbirds in focus, I can only get the humingbird in focus when I have taken them in my own yard.

Hi Amanda, I only ever shoot in manual, set good DoF, really depends on how you want to compose the image. I do sometimes set it very shallow.

Hi Amanda, I only ever shoot in manual, set good DoF, really depends on how you want to compose the image. I do sometimes set it very shallow.
When I want a clear and not blurred background I set for f7-8 and adjust the other 2 in manual.
