Hummer Chick Update - 2nd chick faces danger

The second chick eventually left the nest, settling on a branch not far from the nest. While on the branch, observing all the wonders of this new world, a very aggressive hummingbird (not seen before) arrived and tried to "encourage" the fledgling to leave. The little guy was having no part of this and stood his ground. Eventually momma returned and all was right again.

Terrific set - so much more interesting than shooting hummers at the feeder (that's the only way I've ever gotten them!). BTW - is that a ginko tree they're in?

Yes, that is a ginkgo. We were very lucky she chose a lower visible branch for her nest. Thanks for viewing Sue.
