Capturing birds is what got me back into photography. As my skill improves, we go farther and farther afield to find them. Things have been really quiet in our area, in regards to birds. We have gone out on two bird walks, in spite of the heat, but many of our flying friends must be somewhere cooler than here (96 degrees today!) I did manage to capture a GBH taking a stroll and another in a tree, as well as a very handsome swallow that was taking a break from the heat.
This time last year, I was in butterfly heaven: this year, only two, thus far. I wonder are others having the same experience? The beautiful spotted creature is actually a roller moth.
I am also sharing a very happy coincidence that occurred, while shooting bees on the corn flowers. I wonder if any of you can guess the source of the amazing blue background. I was just reading an article about frame/content awareness and didn't realize the impact of what transpired, until I uploaded the shots. Please enjoy the downloads and stay cool, wherever you are!
Beautiful shots. I especially like the ones with the dark blue background.
Beautiful set, Bernie. And I don't know how you got the blue background but is certainly enhances these photos.

Thank you for taking time to comment! Yes: the blue "blew" me away too! It was pure luck. I will say more later.

Hello my friend! Thanks for looking. I always appreciate your support. The blue "almost" makes the shot, doesn't it? Fool's luck!
Nice set, Bernie... especially the flowers and bees!!!
My milkweed is in bloom and not a pat of butter to be seen....
Hope they come soon!!

Lovely, detailed images Bernie.
Bernie, these are really great. I’m glad you got a couple of birds but what I really love is your flowers and bees. These shots are very well done and creative! Good job!
Wonderful work, Bernie! The detail is outstanding. The little bird in #3 really catches the eye.
