Ketchikan AK.
IMHO, the photo in color lends emotional depth to the picture.
I was in Ketchikan in the 50s, part of a Federal Court judiciary group on assignment to hear the overload of cases of sub-contractors against contractors hired to build the new small boat harbor there.
I'm curious; what process did you use to create the B & W? I also like to try B&W and I am often left disappointed with the results. I am a fan of Ansel Adams', and would love to emulate work. I'm new to UHH, is there a Black and White group? That might be a challenge, produce your best Black and White and post on a certain date, and we can compare work and technique! Anyone interested?

Lovely shot.
I like the color version best.
Color definitely, makes the background stand out, brings the houses to life.

There's so much color to begin with, the photo seems to demand that you capture that. The color photo would be my preference even though I like the B&W.
My favorite little Alaska city, color for sure. I’ll never forget that green.
Color. Consider cropping out the clouds/mountain.
Color! The colored houses are hard to give up.

At first glance, the color stood out for me. After looking at them for a while, I think they both work.

I agree... nice shot in both modes.
