Lost a very dear friend yesterday, my golden Ali. Had this great gal for almost 13 1/2 years. Missing her dearly.
First shot is when we first adopted her in February, 2005.
Second was taken in November, 2017.

So sorry for your loss.I know how crushing it is.Try to get another ASAP.
Our condolences for your loss! The wonderful love a dog provides makes the loss so much worse.
we adopt thinking we will make their life better. the reality is that they make our life so much more rewarding. they become family. Ali grew in your heart and she won't leave you stranded. We understand.
So sorry for your loss, I am sure you have fond memories.
It is going to take a very long time to get over not having her around anymore. Got up yesterday morning and I did not see Ali in the bedroom so I checked the office, one of her favorite places to lay. Then it hit me, she is not here anymore.
The outpouring of support from my UHH family has been nothing short of unbelievable. If you haven't noticed, this thread is 6 pages long. I didn't expect this. I would like to thank each and every one of you. Your kind support is GREATLY appreciated.
If anyone would like to post an image of a pet they lost in this thread please do so!
Thanks again to all of you.

Don, no surprise, any of us whose lives have been changed by a dog, we all feel your loss and understand your grief. My boy had been gone, gosh can it be? three months already, and I still tiptoe carefully around where his bed is, err used to be, still wake up and look for my shoes to take him on his morning walk, still think itâs time to feed him before I have my own dinner, the list goes on.
I already posted a couple pix, but like Ali, Shadow was a handsome, photogenic pup, me favorite model and subject ( in addition to being a war hero and a rockstar Therapy Animal) so I will accept your invitation and post another. My heart goes out to you, and all our other friends here who have lost beloved pets.
I can't tell you how much my heart goes out to you. Sometimes soul mates don't have to be human. I found that out when I lost my Yorkie. A friend gave me a plant in his memory. I actually found that taking care of that plant, in his name, helped. Four years later, I'm still nourishing that plant. Now, instead of tears, I smile as I pass it and see it flourishing. What I also found, and please don't reject this, is that getting a new puppy almost immediately, probably saved me. It's hard to drown in sorrow when a new life is doing funny things all the time and so needs you to take care of it. Rather than looking at it as a replacement, which there will never be, consider it as a tribute to the love that you lost. What he/she gave you was so great that you found you didn't want to live without it in your life. I've told many people this and those who did it have been happy that we did. Nothing is as healing as new life. I pray that your pain dulls to a manageable level and that what you are left with are magnificent memories of who you were together.
Having them is a joy.
Having them for such a short time is so sad.

God bless her; I'm sure she had a good life with her family (you!)

My deepest sympathy.
A dog gives so much but asks for so little in return. We can learn a lot from our canine friends.
I'll 2nd that! I will always remember my best friend "Roscoe", a stray that was with me for over 12 years.

Run free Ali, you're the brightest 🌠 star on a summer night. Sorry for your loss Don.
My golden still lives forever in my heart. My condolences to you on your loss. They are truly part of the family and your soul.
I am so very sorry for your loss and I am sure that you gave Ali a wonderful loving life. I know that this pain gets less & less with time and when it does, you will become aware that your mutual love is still very much in your heart. It always will be there and it will comfort you. Peace to you.
