In the fall of 2016 my wife and I made our first visit to Grand Canyon NP, south rim. On that first visit we spent 3 days and nights, and I took hundreds of photos. Earlier this month we made our second visit, along with some other family members. Due to time constraints on the part of one of the family members, we were only able to be there for one night and one day. Despite the short time, I was able to get some shots that were not duplicates of the first visit, including some views of the Colorado River. Posting 9 images. Comments welcome and I hope you enjoy.

Thank you for taking a look and commenting. I appreciate it. The Grand Canyon is one of those places that one cannot fully comprehend just from seeing photos. I hope you are able to make a visit there.
Very nice, my old stomping grounds for 7 years. The 2nd and 3rd photos - seems everyone likes the "Battleship" rock as they call it. I love it. Even hiked to the top of it. Glad you had good weather, enjoyed your visit, and took some nice shots.

Well captured series!!

Excellent photos of a beautiful place.
I was at the North Rim last fall; the views are very different up there.
So beautiful, I really like #4

Highly engaging series, Tom. Some highlights for me:
#4 - the depth. Not height, but rather the layers of more distinct foreground taking us back to hazier, indistinct distance. Very effective in capturing the sense of space, and a great example of why people should not do HDR or de-haze on landscapes
#8 - Terrific balance with three large land masses separated by darker, crunchy verticals + the blue river. This is a view I've not seen (photos only, never been) and I am quite mesmerized by this composition.
Nice pictures, reminds me of my trip to the national parks in Utah my wife and I took last month. grandpa
