Out yesterday to catch up on some local street photography. This is one I was able to walk away with, he reminds me of someone. Thoughts, comments and/or any improvements?

His expression and the light on his head, beard and arm really engage me. His presence is strong enough to stand out from the clutter of the background (and I see you have some blurring to aid that). Perhaps adjust the brightest spot on lower right side of frame?

I turned 13 the very month the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan for three Sundays in a row, so his t-shirt adds to my pleasure.

Does he remind you of you?? btw, I couldn't remember where I had seen David Alan Harvey's quote when I added it to this topic: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-537738-1.html

This is excellent work: the face, the cigarette, the lighting, etc. There’s a very cluttered background, but the lighting and the focus on the man just seem to make it insignificant. This one is striking as it is, but the download overwhelms the smaller version.

Thanks Linda, I appreciate your thoughts and interest. Just so you know, the slight blur (Bokeh) in the background was all in camera and not added in PP. I saw the bright spot prior but ignored it. I do agree, needs to be removed or toned down. Probably best to remove tho.

Reminisce of younger days can be enjoyable and sad at the same time. I remember those days as well. I added the quote from David Alan Harvey to my signature this past April.

Beautifully processed Dave, you’ve made him stand out and given the shot some real depth. Great effort. Can’t help with who he looks like but he may belong to the same beard club as a couple of FYC contributors!
