Looks like my reply didn’t get off the ground at the last attempt Erich - that will be due to my travels.
I agree a slr would be great - but you need to be pretty confident to launch all that dough into the unknown! Perhaps try a cheap version first?
I don't know of any consumer-level drones which would be capable of carrying a dslr. If you *could* find one, it would cost a *lot* of money. As you say, it would take a lot of confidence to risk that kind of investment into the wide blue yonder... I feel nervous enough sometimes just sending the drone itself! A lot of the better drones on the market have cameras which are really quite good. The only limitation, is that they are pretty much all fixed aperture and very wide angle. You would have to spend a whole lot of cash to get a zoom lens, if indeed they are available at all.
Just for those people who get nervous about being "spied upon" by people flying drones: if the drone is close enough to get a good, recognisable picture of you, then you could knock it down with a broom! The selfie I posted earlier in this thread was taken at about 6 feet distance...

Take your point Bloke, but rest assured it won’t be long before high quality resolution is the norm! Jury is still out in my case (as to whether to invest in one or not).

Seeing more and more of these, unfortunately not always flown appropriately. This guy was at Portland Bill (UK) and was generally well behaved although he did fly it over a cafe with people sitting outside, which seemed a bit off to me. Trust all pilots have public liability insurance!
A visit to our local electrical appliances and computer superstore was an eyeopener - the number and variety of drones left me gobsmacked.
Do you own one, or have a craving? I'm still in two minds but reckon if I don't get one the wife will!

I see many in my area Dave. I don't have one and I haven't give much thought to owning one, but I do believe you put a bug in my ear !!! Not sure how it would play out only being a few mile from an airport.

Ah, you do need to be careful if you’re near flightpaths. Over here they come down hard on you if you cause any concern.
Good to see you Dave, appreciate you calling in.
