Camping at Abiquiu Lake, New Mexico

15 years ago, we were in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and spent our time mostly at Abiquiu Lake. We would get there on a Friday and leave on Monday, sleeping on the boat, anchored in a cove. The sunset is from 4 July 2003 and the rainbow is from 5 July. Taken with my Lumix LC5.

Very appealing group of photos. We have visited NM a few times and enjoyed every minute of our visits. Most recent visit was Albuquerque, Sandia Peak, and Santa Fe.

Your beautiful photos at Abiquiu Lake, near Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch are where Georgia O'keefe spent most of her life painting some of her greatest works. Then after visiting Georgia, Ansel Adams traveling south stopped at Hernandez and photographed his most famous "Moon Over Hernandez". NMGal, I like your photo's, nice work. I was at ghost ranch about 6 weeks ago for the 1st time. The whole area is beautiful including Abiquiu Lake. It must be nice living in such a beautiful place.

We have stayed there. Beautiful area! We also got double rainbow shots like yours. I do love New Mexico!

Thank you all. It is a beautiful area and pics really don’t do it justice. You have to see it. Then it is a case of “you either love it or hate it”.
