It Looked Like It Could Be a Good Day For Fishing.

I get my fishing tackle; the bate is ready; I drop my hook in the water, and I wait.

Those of you who have been fishing, in one form or another know the story; sometimes you come home with nothing, and other times your knee deep in fish in the cockpit.

Well today was a pretty good day.

Photographing lightning seems a lot like fishing to me. You get your rig setup and wait until there's a strike!

And you do not need any bait for lightning pics!

The first one is impressive. Is that a bird at the top of the second?

Well sort of yes and no, dancers, at least the way I look at it. While its true I do not provide anything to attract the lightning, the conditions have to be right, and I'm learning that you may have your "line in the water" on the wrong side of the boat, or in this case have your camera set up pointing in the wrong direction.

NMGal, I have no idea what that is. I have another shot the camera took that's one second from this on and the object has moved to the right in that picture and looks rather flat shaped. I will try and put that one up a little later but thanks for stopping by and commenting.

As promised here is the full jpg of that second lightning bolt with what ever it is flying in the jpg. Also I am posting an image from one second earlier which will show how much the object moves in that one second. Both jpgs in B&W. The first one shot at 14:55:12, the second one at 14:55:13.
