These go back fifty years. Taken with my old Nikkormat camera on color slide film.

I was in the Air Force at the time and had gone to Japan for ten days R&R.

Wow, nice, interesting. But no Mt. Fuji?

I did see Mt. Fuji on the train but did not get a shot of it unfortunately.
I was on my way to Osaka. About three hundred miles from Tokyo.

And thank you Sylvia. I always look forward to your travel photos.
I have always been fascinated with Japan. I would have loved going there. Now it doesn't seem likely that will happen. Loved looking at your set.

Thank you fourg1b2006.
I was very fortunate. I stayed with some Japanese folks in Osaka that I had met on the island of Guam while they were there on vacation.
Anyway, they took me sightseeing and to meet their families. Even went to a a public bath house. I saw sights the average tourist probably
doesn't get to see. They treated me great. It was hard to imagine that we had once fought a savage war with the people of that nation.
The cleanliness of everything in your photos is what amazes me about Japan. We spent a few hours in the airport at Osaka on our way to Vietnam about 10 years ago and the same in Tokyo airport on the way home. Both my wife and I were thoroughly impressed with how spotless everything was. Thanks for posting a nice set of photos.
