Ah kids and grandkids. Talk to them again when they are older and have thrown away some things because they were poor organizers and see if they are then anal.

Not in the least. Actually a really good idea, think I'll do the same or similar, maybe even ident the protective caps that go on them so I know which is in the camera.

I put numbers on as I acquire so I can tell which ones are older. Some say older batteries have less life left; do not know if that is true or not.

I have two batteries. One in the camera the other charged and ready for battle. Take one out, put it in the charger put the fully charged battery in the camera. Sounds too easy.

Nobody else does this! Guess what that makes you. I, however, would not say Anal. Instead, I label such people AR.

I have six also. Two go into the grip at a time.
I never know how quickly they may (or may not) be depleted depending on how much and how I'm shooting.
Four batteries will give me two sets.
The last two are insurance.

Yes, it's anal. So, who ever said being anal is bad? The anal photographers come home with the images they want to capture. Others, they make excuses.

One person's idea of "anal" is many other peoples' idea of "organized". I prefer to call myself "organized" though my wife and sons don't always agree!
