Portrait Profesional Software Opinions

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has used the software "Portrait Professional" What has been your experience with it and would you recommend getting it. Thanks in advance for any import.

yeah, it sucks. You can download the trial version, but when you use it, you are extremely limited to what you can do with the trial version. You can't save the photos you loaded and altered, nor can you make prints. It also leaves a very large watermark on the image if you try saving it and the photo becomes useless. Although affordable, the company does not provide an install disc and it's impossible to get them to respond to any quarries at all. I personally will never recommend them for these reasons and more... Sorry to be so negative, but I tried "Portrait Professional" trial version and was sadly disappointed. I tried contacting the company over 2 years and never once got a response from them.

I have been working with Portrait Professional for about 3 months now. I would recommend it, it is easy to use and does a great job. I have had a lot of compliments on my portraits when I have used the PP software.

I downloaded the trial version and played with it. While I haven't yet started doing any portraiture work, the software wouldn't help me much right now. However, I'm going to buy the software just for the simple fact that the designers and developers of the software did an outrageously good job, and they make their living doing that. I'm in that business, and I can tell you those guys did it right.
I was very impressed with the capabilities and ease of use. If your doing portraiture, I can't imagine not having it, or something like it.

I, too, got the trial version and quickly converted to the paid version once I saw what could be done using PP. I really like it and have used it often on faces (especially on us older folks) to remove blemishes, wrinkles, etc. You don't want to take them all out of course, but it does a great job and is easy to use.

I have it and couldn't imagine not having it now that I have saved photos I thought were unrepairable. GO FOR IT :)

Hi Ed. I've had Portrait Professional for about a Year now and use it a lot. I use it as a plugin to Photoshop. It makes my work flow faster. It is a great tool and works as advertised.

I bought it and love it. SUPER easy and does an amazing job. I will admit upon first using it, I tended to over do peoples faces. Basically making the 40 year old look 25. ;) I would highly recommend it.

I was worried at first because the trial version doesn't really give you a good view but after purchasing it and using it on my nephew who has a rather large birthmark on his face, I was very happy with it. My sister is very happy too because she didn't want to completely remove the birthmark but didn't want it standing out so much on the prints. I provided some before and afters.

I absolutely love PP - have been using it for about a year. It's very easy to use - I highly recommend it.

I've used Portrait Professional through many versions and like most others love it and so do my subjects. Buy it, you won't regret it.

It seems to me that Portrait Professional is one of those products you either love or hate. It is able to create an idealized version of beauty that includes modifying facial contours, softening skin and blemishes, and even changing eye color. To me, the results often look unrealistic, less like a portrait and more like surgery. Freckles disappear and are difficult to recover. If you or your clients like the "before" and "after" results you see in the PP ads or website, you will like the software. I prefer having finer control over my portraits (which I get from CS5 and some plug-ins) and a wife who is proud of the wrinkles she has earned over the years. although a small bit of software improvement is allowed.

I've used it for about three months and I like it. It's one of those programs that can be VERY EASY to overdo if you're not careful, but you can do as much or as little as you like. Someone posted about losing freckles but you don't have to lose them.
All the things Portrait Pro does can be done in Photoshop, but PP just makes it sooooo much easier, and a WHOLE LOT less expensive, unless you already have Photoshop.
One thing I found that I'm sure PP didn't intend, you can make some really crazy morphs and funny "portraits" of people. :lol: :twisted:

This can be used as a plug in? Hmmm. I've owned PP for over a year now. I also have PS CS3 and didn't know this could be done. Please explain.
