Here is the way it works. The lifetime warranty thingy is a no go. It is a catch. They promise a warranty and a few years down the line they have updated the product so it is not longer available. Then they do the good thing, that is the good thing for them, and they have a replacement already to go. The problem is the replacement is by far inferior to the one that you had purchased. Everything breaks down at some point. So buyer beware.
I can tell you one company that honors their lifetime warranty. That company is VACUFLO. My wife called for a service man to checkout our unit, purchased in 1998, when he looked inside the unit he said "you need a new motor and starting relay, and you are in luck, you have a lifetime warranty". Yes, we had to pay for the visit but the parts were no charge, about $250.00 worth. So yes, some companies do have and honor their lifetime warranty.
