I'm new here.

I got my first camera when I was in 5th grade - 1959 - by selling seeds from door to door for a place I found in the back of a comic book. A little black box that took 620 roll film. Shortly thereafter my father build a darkroom for himself and taught me how to develop and print my own photos.
For eight grade graduation I was given my grandfather's old Contax 3A with 50 millimeter
and 135 millimeter lenses plus an extension tube which my father milled to fit. I used this with black and white film throughout my high school years. During that time I also worked for the school yearbook and newspaper using the schools Graflex Press Camera.
After high school I started shooting slides with Kodachrome 64 shot at ASA 100 for denser colors. My Contax ways always at my side until it was stolen in 1986. I then moved up to a Canon AE-1 which I used for a couple of years until it also was stolen. I replaced it with a Canon F-1 which I thoroughly enjoyed as it had a lot of accessories for all kinds of uses.
Unfortunately I haven't used it since they discontinued Kodachrome 64 - nothing else I found compared.
My first Digital camera was a Fuji-film 3mp wonder. Woo Hoo.
I am now using a Canon T2i which I am fairly happy with but would like to update sometime.
My love is for landscapes, macros and odd found things, but having family I also get stuck doing the "Snapshot" scene at family gatherings etc.
After all these years I'm still learning and glad to find this forum.
The photos posted here from the Contax were scanned slides.
The wagon wheel was shot with: Cannon EOS Rebel T2i, F8, 1/500, 400 ISO, -1 step, Cannon EF-s 55-250 lens at 116mm. This one has had some minor editing in Photoshop Essentials 10.
Adjusted Level curve and minor sharpening.

Nice shots, BB2! Welcome to the forums. I had a Contax in the 1960s, and loved it to death. Death by shutter failure, unfortunately. I think it's still in a box somewhere in storage or attic.
Glass was Leitz quality, IMHO, and the camera just felt so good in my hands - better than my friend's Leica M-2!
Welcome aboard!
