I'm enjoying all I see here so far. I'll try to comment more later. I've always found rusty stuff interesting for the fact that most of it has a history behind it. The artisan that thought it up, the craftsman that made it, the laborer, yeoman, journeyman, that used it....all bring thoughts of it's origin and who was involved with it.
The old Spanish Missions around here have a lot of rusty hardware. Modern day apprentice use some modern screws to reattach it to this really old door.

Go to any port city and I'll bet you will find an old anchor just laying around....especially on display in a public area.

When free ranging came to an end a lot of barbed wire got stapled to cedar, or mesquite, or hedge posts to close it down. And the cowboy became a fence runner and mender.

Dang, Harry, you got some interesting stuff. I especially liked that old implement seat posted earlier with the lichen on it, great shot. And that 10 gallon milk can really brought a rush of nostalgia over me as Dad hauled milk to St. Joseph, Missouri when I was a kid in Coon Holler. Threw a couple hundred of those cans into his truck every day from 20 or so dairy farmers in a couple of counties around us.
I found this in the middle of the woods - go figure!
