Looking to buy a long zoom, pocket size point & shoot with a view finder. Any opinions on the Lumix ZS series? Thnx for any replies. UHH is my 'go to' place for opinions.
My wife has a ZS100. It his her primary, travel, family and artistic camera. Her PP software is Corel Paintshop Pro.
My cameras cost a lot more, are bigger and I use Lightroom and Photoshop.
The prints she hangs on the wall from our trips and events are usually better than mine. It kills me, but I still love her.
I use a TZ 60. 30x zoom ,18 mp.viewfinder plus lcd .more than pleased.
I went with the DMC-ZS 100. I insisted on having a viewfinder and a good zoom range. While still getting to know it, so far very pleased.
There are plenty of long zoom pocket cameras out there and the picture quality for most of then are mostly good for social media and making small prints. The Lumix cameras with their Leica lens are better than most. Good luck.

Same here. it also has Wi-Fi and GPS and is capable of taking 3d photos..and of course it has a Leica lens!

I feel your pain. I bought my travel partner a Lumix FZ-300, her first camera other than a mobile. She shoots mainly in Auto. I've been shooting for almost 50 years, currently with a FZ-1000 after retiring my Canon T90 film camera. And yes, her photos can be better (I think it's her younger eyes).

I've had the TZ30 (TS20 in US) [20x zoom] for 5 years & love it. My daughter has had the TZ60 (30x zoom) for a couple of years & similarly loves it. You can't go wrong with these.
HI
I have a very good friend who shoots for Lumix. As soon as my cell charges, I will send him a text message!

Please do post the friends reply. Very interested.
I use a ZS70, my wife uses my "old" ZS60 and our adult daughter uses my even older ZS50 as our small go everywhere cameras. Great for grandkids, great for documenting an event, etc. Also shoot D850, D500 pair. ZS70 amazingly versatile, easy to use and very capable of producing great pictures and videos. Wide range of ways to use these little gems depending on situation and time/effort you want to take to capture a scene from full auto to manual settings.
I've had a LUMIX FZ 50 for about 10 yrs...my only problem with is the 2in screen. Too small for my eyes!

Can anyone recommend photo opportunities in RI, New York? I also need a hotel recommendation near 100 Gaspie Street by the Amtrak Station.
Thanks
I have a ZS-40 and a ZS-50 and they are perfect for a small excellent quality pocket camera with an excellent lens. My wife uses her ZS-50 in Automatic Mode and gets some excellent shots. I'm a little more adventurous and mostly use Aperture Priority on mine. Their shortfall is trying to get a super-sharp photo when using the long zoom feature, hand-held. You need a tripod or some kind of solid support when zooming far out. They are also excellent street cameras for candid photography. I bought both of mine from Costco. They run "specials" on them from time to time at very decent prices.
Good morning. you'll get better results if you create a new topic with an appropriate title rather than burying your inquiry in the middle of a discussion on Lumix Point&shoot cameras.
