Hi, Sony A580,

The impact is strong. Major contributors are the strong vertical columnar masses with the juxtaposed tiny human figure.
Technically, exposure and focus are right on.
Composition, the strong contributor to impact, is mostly marvelous. The stark verticality of the columns is offset by the combination of the shadows upon them at the same angle as that of the clouds in the indigo sky. My sole criticism is that there is insufficient space below the man’s feet. He appears to be standing on the 3dge of the 8mage

Impact: 4.5
Tech: 4.5
Composition 3.5
Total: 12.5/15

A very strong image

Yes, very powerful. One small thing is I would prefer just a bit less sky and a bit more space under his feet.

I agree with both of you that there should have been more at the bottom. Next time I'm in Athens ........

I agree with the others about the feet but I think the sky is too dark. It's not natural looking and gives the photo a heavy feel.

Thanks for the comment. I agree the sky is a little dark but I felt it made the columns stand out more.

Thanks and Kudos to y’for noticing; yes...intentional.
I was wondering if perhaps it was too subtle and if it was too much to hope that anyone might pick up on it.

It's very effective when a person in your image gives scale to the image. I would like to see images from different perspectives at this place. It would be my personal preference to shoot it from the end of the columns and not straight on .. unless .. the man had been walking on the platform of the structure in one direction or the other.

I agree with all that has been said save that the sky needs to be lighter. I think it helps with the heavy ancient feel of the columns.

Good point, CM,
I meant to include exactly that point that the deep indigo sky, by contrast, magnifies the imposing massive nature of the sun-lit columns!
