Kodak has appointed a new president of their film division and they're talking about expanding.

Kodak will never be the giant it was but I wish them well in their endeavors. Hopefully Mr. Yves-Mahe will be a competent leader. There is a market for film and more than likely will be for many years in the future. If they can be innovative and give their customers what they want it should prove to be a smaller but still lucrative endeavor.

The first thing he needs to do is lower the price of film. Tri-x, Ekta-chrome, Kodachrome yes ! It's all too too expensive to shoot. If they were to reduce the price of film by 50% people would start buying it again. I love film and grew up with film. AND... my Nikon FG is alot lighter than my Nikon D-500.

Kodachrome was slowly dying even before the digital age - the required chemicals were not very environmentally friendly
