Iowa Pacific is a holding company which runs various railroad-type operations, mostly tourist, in many states .... but not Iowa. Here are a couple of pictures I took in 2012 when we rode their Saratoga & North Creek tourist operation in upstate NY.
Incidentally, Theodore Roosevelt was at the North Creek station when he got the message that President McKinley had finally died, and he {TR} was now President.

Nice photos!
Is the FM in operation?
I didn't see one, but this was over five years ago.
Very nice photos - the first one was my favorite locomotive on this line. Sad news- Iowa Pacific Holdings broke their contract to run trains this summer on the Saratoga to North Creek line. They could not make money on the tourist train and they did not get the freight business to supplement it by hauling tailings from the long defunct Tahawus mine line. They attracted a lot of bad press when they tried to make money by storing old tanker cars on the line from North Creek to Tahawus.

That
is sad - they have gone through various operations trying to make money on them. When we were there, it looked like a very successful business - they had some old double-deck commuter cars from Long Island on the property, for example - but maybe they are good at looking good. At one time they were supplying cars to Amtrak for a train through Indiana, but I found an old news story that Indiana had ended that contract because IPH wasn't getting the job done. About the time we rode this train, IPH was starting a program of attaching heritage sleeper cars to the end of Amtrak's "Lake States Ltd" train .... but I haven't heard much from that recently.
