The Canadian Side is by far the best. Bring a raincoat for your gear
Don’t miss riding the Maid of the Mist--we liked it so much that we did it twice.
Don't forget the exhilarating barrow ride down the falls and set you camera on rapid fire.
And send us the pics.
Did you get that you should see it from the Canadian side? It's true but a bit overstated.

I'm planning a trip to Niagara Falls area later this month. Looking for any advice or insight as to any unusual vantage points, etc. Also, whether better to stay on US side or Canadian side? Appreciate any advice.
The Canadian side. Not much to see or do on the US side.

Yes, do visit Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown NY. Home of the second oldest Stars and Stripes flag from the war of 1812. About 13 miles north from Niagara Falls NY in Fort Niagara State Park. The Robert Moses Parkway (now renamed Niagara Scenic Parkway) will get you there from Niagara Falls NY. If you take the parkway to Lewiston NY, following route 18F from Lewiston to Youngstown is a more scenic route than staying on the parkway. The fort with its "French castle" and museum are well worth the visit. The state park admission fee will be refunded if you visit the fort. There are daily activities and frequent re-enactments and encampments. It is located right across the mouth of the river from the lovely town of Niagara on the Lake (catch a show at the Shaw Festival) which a previous poster mentioned. If not already mentioned in a previous post the Butterfly Conservatory and the Niagara Parks Commission botanical gardens on the Canadian side are also well worth a visit. Many photo opportunities at all of these locations. If you cannot visit all during this trip please consider another visit. Huge air show at the Niagara Falls air base this weekend. USAF Thunderbirds and RCAF Snowbirds will be there. Enjoy your visit. YNY.
YES, the Canadian side. Change your money from American to Canadian right there when you enter Canada. Their money is even beautiful! There is nothing like the town of NOTL (Niagara On The Lake) They call it "Nottle". I wanted to stay and live there! Enjoy!
Niagara Falls!
Slowly I turned. Step by step; inch by inch .....
