As the saying goes, especially in this case, “A picture tells a thousand words.” Wonderful capture.
Thanks so very much Charlie'smom! Sometimes cool photos just fall into your lap by accident. We as photographers have to be ready for those rare moments, almost anticipating them!
I'm partial to images that tell a story, and this image tells a good one.
Most of my photo work is primarily "snapshots" of whatever comes along.
I think this shot is a good example of that. You just have to be ready (and recognize it when it comes).
good work Brent !

Excellent shot and timing Brent!
Having spent a lot of time on the beaches of southern California, Santa Barbara, Ventura Rincon, Santa Monica & Malibu, I can attest to the age differences but when you're enjoying yourself you really hardly notice or pay any attention to the differences; and, I must say some of the oldsters are in pretty good physical condition -
Thanks for the photos of southern California - an excellent study of the culture and lifestyle there
A big difference looking at the download . Great light to dark contrast . Curious what they were running to see I must admit . Well done .Tommy

This image really makes a statement in my opinion................it's visually showing the stark contrast between the energetic youth running together while the older couple moves along in a wheelchair. Both couples seem happy in the stage of life which they are presently in. Both couples are enjoying a sunny but brisk day on the Huntington Beach Pier, California. Please download this one for best detail.
Just wondering how happy would *you* be either in a wheelchair or pushing your spouse in one?
That is a very nice image...good eye in spotting it.
Really great image. I aspire to the left but am approaching the right.
I had a similar experience about 20 years ago when I was pushing my youngest son in his stroller around our neighborhood and ran into a neighbor pushing her elderly father in his wheelchair...two families at different ends of life's spectrum. Wish I had a picture of that encounter.
You nailed it! Great picture
Time and fashions in constant change. Love the mix of youth, beauty and age.
Nice shot and good observation! Funny how the world changes from the individual perspective - when I was young there were so many old people around, in their 30s, 40s, 50s and so on. Now there are so many young people around! In their 30s, 40s, 50s and so on...
