a post was made earlier about the "Streamliners at Spencer" event. The only way to describe it was that it was EPIC. In this day and age(2014), it was incredible to see this many "covered wagons" in one place. The event was 4 days and 3 nights-could have been longer in my estimation-but was a total immersion in days gone by. Here's a few of my pix:
the "last man standing"-the only E5 left. these were a special model for Burlington-all stainless

the "steam killer"-EMD's FT sets were the start of the end of steam-these were the original 2

Doyle McCormack's ALCO PA unit-adorned in Nickel Plate livery. A VERY RARE unit.

Union Pacific sent part of their business fleet-here one pulls a train on museum grounds

Bennett Levin sent a whole train down-this engine as well as another, with a complete passenger train

this ERIE-painted E-unit was actually part of the old Conrail business train fleet.

Thrilling shots from history. I especially enjoyed seeing the Lackawana units at Barbour Junction, the golden hour turntable pose and the Nickle Plate Alco unit. Thank you for sharing these. /Ralph

Thanks for sharing these beautiful locos. All the pictures are great. It looks like a railfan's dream event.

IT WAS A DREAM EVENT!!! I was happy that I attended every day(4) and night(3), and then stayed for the next day when most of the engines where shipped out.
