Getting My 1961 Chevy Impala Convertible , ready for the Upcoming Car Shows.......
I thought because summer is almost here, its time to get my Impala Super Sport ready for all the upcoming car shows, that truly are a lot of fun to attend if you're a car guy........I"ve discovered thru my classic car Insurer Hagerty, that I may own the last 1961 Chevy Super Sport Convertable, with factory A/C.in existence!!........To me, it doest matter, as I truly enjoy dropping the top, playing my doo wop and oldies tunes, and answering the questions of young people, when they see my Impala and their bewildered look, To me, its as much fun, as photography has been for me thru the past 60 years........Any other classic car guys, out there???.if so, please post some foto"s...........
Beautiful car. I had a '61 shortly after I was married in 1966. Mine was a Biscayne. I think the '61 was one of the best looking models GM ever produced.

A Fraternity brother had a blue one. Not a Drop top, but still a cool ride. Looks like you take very good care of her. That's when you could tell what car it was from a block away- now they all look the same.
Beautiful car. I had a '58 Impala hardtop with factory air, 348, Turboglide, etc., and was a very popular guy on late-spring fraternity road trips. Even New Hampshire could get warm & muggy at that time of the year! Thanks for sharing your pictures.
You have a beauty. Congratulations and best wishes so that you keep on winning competitions.
Thank you, for your very kind words...

I thought because summer is almost here, its time ... (
show quote)
I had a new 61 Impala Convertible; white with red interior. In those days, new cars only had a three month warranty. It provided both the most fun I ever had with a car and the biggest lemon and continuing expense I ever had with a car from the day I bought it until the day I dumped it almost two years later. There wasn't a garage in town it could pass without incurring a big repair bill and it was a major gas guzzler in a day when premium was only $.299 a gallon. It was like owning a yacht; the two happiest days in my life were the day I bought it and the day I traded it in for a Pontiac LeMans with a GTO package. I have never bought another Chevy since nor will I ever even consider buying one again.
