It's so nice when they pose.

This is a Western Fence Lizard aka "blue-belly." I've seen many but none had such vivid blue.

I've never seen one of these with such rich coloring. It was especially nice to see him at my eye level on the fence post so I didn't have to attempt getting down on the ground. LOL

I'm glad you liked him Carol and appreciate your time looking and commenting.

That's what he was doing, a couple of push ups to warn off intruders. He also seemed to enjoy the warmth of the sun before it got too hot.

Thanks for taking time to comment on this post barnett. I really appreciate it.

Thanks for taking time for this post Jim. I was actually quite surprised to see such bright blue on this one. Most of the ones I've seen were comparatively pale.

The blue was quite intense. It was fortunate the camera accurately captured it.

Thanks for the visit and comments Dan. I'm glad you enjoyed these shots.

Nice. Never seen one of those in the Bay Area. Common?

I see these all over the north bay. I suspect they're very common although you don't see much color until they're older. The little ones blend in so well, you might miss them unless they move.

Thanks for the visit and comments globetrekker. I appreciate it.
