Which 3 to enter in the fair?
I can only enter 3 photos and I like these 4. Each fits a class: senic, wildlife, flowers, and close-up so that does not weigh into the decision. Input would be appreciated.
mono lake sunset
bald eagle
blue poppies
painted lady
I love the eagle. I have tried taking photos of eagles when they are after the fish, and failed with focus, but your seems to be focused on the bird.
After carefull concideration, Blue poppies is the one. The other two seems a little soft to my eyes.
A very hard choice.
I eliminated the 4th photo easily ( :-D ), and between the remaining three, I like the flowers best, followed by the sunrise and then the eagle.
All are potential winners however.

ALL are GREAT!! Depending on how you want to choose the catagories to post in, I would say that #1 and #3 HAVE to be included. As much as I love eagles, and your picture is awesome, that would be my last choice among those you have posted..... At least my opinion is that the other 3 are all winners.

Fairs tend to be pickier about the rule of thirds. You eagle shot is a must see in the download but I would crop it to fit the rule of thirds. My choices are the first is a winner, the second move to fit the rule of thirds and it is a close second. Other two are very good but may not stand out as subjects. My opinion, these are all great shots.

#'s 2 & 4
#1 is blown up, to much HDR
#3 is really good but chose #4 for content.
Skip #3,the blue flowers..
No HDR. I just lightened the shadows and straightened the horizon a little.
what is the criteria for your fair, I entered the Iowa State fair and submitted four but one 1 was chosen, I find out on August 5th which one it was and what award it won.
For me you need unique to make it special:
1 is to over saturated for my taste
2 is a great shot, great capture has interest but needs to be cropped better I agree with the post above about using the rule of thirds for this shot
3 love the colors of the flowers and the sunlight shinning through the petals
4 very nice shot, but doesn't hold a lot of interest to me. I guess I different angle on this shot would be a little more interesting but that is my opinion and nothing against your image as it is a very sharp image.
Really I think it is something you have to decide for yourself, what do you think is interesting, different and would be appealing to the judges.
When I looked there were only three the first three but now i like all 4 but I would pick one/two/and four.

Enter 1, 2, and 3. Very nice exposures. Although, and this is just some constructive input, on number one I downloaded to get a better look and I noticed that there was alot of noise. I see that the shot was taken at 1/6 of a second and at ISO 800. I'm assuming you also had a tripod because of the 1/6 of a second, either that or you have a very steady hand. If the shot was taken with a tripod why did you stay with ISO 800? There would have been much less noise at ISO 100 - 400. Now, if you didn't have a tripod then my input is irrelevant and I apologize. But, I still love the shot. I go up to June Lake every year for fishing and always stop at Mono for a picture session. Beautiful sunset. Congratulations.
Also, where was the Bald Eagle shot taken at, if you don't mind me asking?
I entered a butterfly in a local contrast, didn't do well, seems people just don't like pictures of butterflies.
The blue poppies are great but I see want looks like 3 dust spots in the top. Get rid of those and it could be a winner.
Everybody likes eagle pictures, but I agree that there needs to be a little cropping. Seems like there is too much water and not enough bird.
If a person has been to Mono Lake and seen that sunset they would have an idea what it should look like. I've never been there so have nothing to compare it with. Is it really that reddish? Also I don't care for the composition, horizon line is in the middle.
My favorite is the eagle shot. Good luck at the fair.
Sunsets almost never win, move the Eagle bottom left like the man said and thats your winner, the flowers are very nice, the butterfly is great. The Bald Eagle, I love the Eagle but I'm a bird guy, good luck...
