I saw this fledgling hummer land on a fern and stayed put (kind of unusual). Then another hummer briefly joined it and it was obvious that mom was still nursing this little guy. I thought I had missed the photo opportunity, but shortly thereafter the little guy flew back on the fern and I grabbed my camera. D500 80-400
Lovely captures and they tell a story
Great catch of a rare sight! I often see our hummers perched on branches or the roof edge before refueling, but have never seen this!
Wonderful capture of a unique event! 👍👍👍
Great set. #2 is a terrific capture.
Very cool. I've never seen the little guys. vz
Never knew baby Hummers were so fuzzy. Nice group of shots.

DJD, you should be very proud of this outstanding and absolutely delightful series!
WOW, Was the first word to enter my mind, What an amazing unmissed opportunity to capture the life of nature at it's best. 🐣 A double blessing, the experience and chance to capture it in a such a grand way, & a subject matter that to me is unsurpassable!
I hope to be so lucky as to be this blessed somewhere in my near future. Great work!
✨✨
Absolutely wonderful shots!!
