Not surprising. Scientists use insect genetali in some cases to define species. For we mortals it is moot. I understand an oldsquaw duck is now a long tailed duck. Duh! Actually, that was not science. Change in taxonomy is constant, as it must be.DNA has assured that. Questions lead to answers lead to questions.....,..
Yes, that's true. I remember reading the info posted about a sea eagle at our local zoo. Said it was the largest of the eagles.

In the U.S. they could be the largest. The largest in the world I think is a species of sea eagle. Still, that is quite an experience!

For sure. Golden Eagles have a 1200 psi clamp pressure with their talons. Glove is steel mesh reinforced. Interesting what you learn hanging around falconers.
Never knew falconers were under so much pressure.
Lucky you, Matthew, not only seeing these wonderful birds but being able to hold them! What a good experience!
That looks exciting. Thanks for sharing.

No problem Bill.
To all: In Mongolia they actually use Golden Eagles to hunt wolves. Here's a link to just one video on YouTube (there are several):

Love to see you with a Bald Eagle.
Me too! I've got an invite for next Fall when my buddy takes his Golden Eagle out to hunt Jack Rabbits.
