A deer came trotting

My wife and I stopped at a nature preserve on the edge of Windsor, Ontario, this past weekend. As we slogged down a muddy trail, this young lady came the other way up the trail. She stopped about fifty feet from me, clearly puzzled. The sign clearly said "Wildlife Trail" - not "People Trail" - and yet, there we were. Eventually she gave up and went "cross country" through the surrounding woods to get around us.

What a lovely shot. Really captures the essence of a wild deer. Can only say that because so many visit our place in Oregon. (I guess putting out food, as in COB, every morning might have something to do with that! 😉 )

Thank you.

I've never seen one using a path quite this way, and she was so nonchalant about it.

Nice shot. Reminds me a little of Yosemite village in Yosemite national park. When I was there the deer would walk right by people on the trails.

Well you are using her path, why shouldn't she feel at home. Good capture. vz

Thank you. The special thing about this shot is the deer is trotting - I've seen deer walk. I've seen deer run. I've never seen a deer trot before.

Beautiful shot, rehess! Her twin came out in the road in front of us yesterday, but I didn't get a shot (photo) 'cause she trotted off into the dense woodsy growth.

Tried to capture some photos of the wild deer that come to us each morning.

But they aren't the best of pictures; struggled to achieve a perfect focus of the animals. Taken on the 3rd June.
