Having spent the best part of a month moving into a new flat (boy, does my back ache!), I've had precious little time to get out with the camera. I did, however, manage to get out last week on a couple of occasions, once down to Seaham Harbour and on Sunday down to Crimdon Beach to shoot the demolition of an iconic local landmark.

Here, for your philosophical and intellectual pleasure, are my meagre efforts. Enjoy, and comment as you see fit!

The End of an Era

Love the first image in B & W - nice angle. I think it works really well in the B & W too.

The second one doesn't have any point of interest (for me, anyway). Sometimes I think these shallow images lose too much detail.

I like the third image though. Is that 'haze' a heat haze, or just not sufficient contrast. I'd hate to say it needs more contrast when in actual fact, it's just that kind of day.

Really like the Steetley pier photo - the clouds and sparkle on the water really make a good image

It's just weird lighting. What you see in the BG is a thumping big raincloud dumping over Hartlepool (you can see moving off to the left in subsequent shots). There was about 50% cloud cover so the light went from fairly flat to bright and sharp in seconds.
