Some photos I made in HUE Vietnam about 40 mi. N of DaNang, 1968, I was 20 years old! Photos were made with my new 35mm Minolta SRT 101 I bought in Okinawa. It was the start of my love for photography! These b&w images were made on Kodak TRI-X 400 ASA 35mm film.

Let Peace and Happiness be with you on this Memorial Day! AP Gawrys, Disabled Vietnam Veteran 1966-68 . . .

Thanks for your service, we were there at about the same time at different ends of the country. I was involved with the Iron Triangle operations.

If these were among your first pictures taken with your new camera then you have a natural talent for photography. They all seem to be well thought out and composed very well.
Thank you for your service, Anthony.

I was there TDY in 1966 with the Army Security Agency for 38 days. Never got off the base. I was very busy installing equipment then had to get back to the States. Thanks to all that served and remember the ones we lost.

Nice shots. Pictures bring back memories, but I bet you would like to erase some of those memories from 1968.

Yes, very nice imagery, Than you and others for your service there. Still a painful memory of those that did not recieve our troops on return. Just learned of a new book that came highly thought of from the era, though do not believe it to be political.....The Odyssey of Echo Company: The 1968 Tet Offensive and the Epic Battle to Survive the Vietnam War. Have a wonderful day!

Thank You, for your response, MT native! It was my honor serving active duty with the US Navy "SeaBees" and training with "Marains" at camp Pendleton! One's experience in life is always locked in to stay! AP

Thomas, glad to hear your response! When I was a young boy, my father bought me crayons and a good size drawing pad, NO Coloring books! I was three years old not yet in school! I would draw cartoon caricature right too the tee, no tracings, with my left hand!

When I put the camera up to my left eye, I could see the image to be made automatically like a joke, still do, if I press the shutter in time to freeze that keeper moment! I have my share of medical issues that slowed my life down, but not to a stop! One's magic eye and brain will keep you afloat! Keep in touch . . . AP

Welcome brother veteran, Say Cheese! I learned quite bit in life being in the military on active duty! Even when the President of the USA speaks, it's the military of the United States of America that keeps this Country FREE !!! AP
