VERY SOBERING!!!!

If you want to understand the present conditions in Government and the Economy, you need to see this unbiased, neutral explanation of the situation.

I don't care who you are, this is scary.

This is not good news!!!! I guess we all had a feeling this was coming but always tomorrow.

This 5 minute video breaks down just why we won't be able to fix our debt problems & the end results. It is very logical, well explained, and based strictly on facts.

This isn't new news but very few seem to care about tomorrow as long as things seem to be ok today.

This should be of no surprise to anyone... Taxing the rich does nothing to solve this problem... I hope that people will take a moment and reflect over the last few years of rhetoric and see that the democrats have no intention of dealing with this... Their plan is to expand as many entitlements as quickly as possible only exasperating the problem even more quickly.

It's not just Democrats but includes the vast majority of Republicans. It was clear we were heading for disaster well over 20 years ago and instead of dealing with it big government politicians hit the nitrous button and haven't let off even though it is clear we are heading into the abyss. I include neocons and the warmongers in both parties. We can't finance our empire and we must pull back. We will pull back regardless when we are effectively strapped but won't have as many options. How many politicians can you think of that warned way back and has had a consistent message of warnings and voting record to match?

Unfortunately you can't just blame the Democrats for the mess we are in, Everyone has a finger in it. They may have started it all in the distant past, but the Republicans haven't really done anything to stop it either.

Our people in government are clearly unwilling and unable to squarely deal with the problem. I suggest they admit failure and step aside, there ARE people who could deal with this.
It looks like Romney's experience with Bain Capitol dealing with failing businesses could really apply here. We don't have to LIKE him! I, for one, am not looking for a new friend. I'm looking for a qualified person to lead our country. Romney is probably NOT the only one who could do this, but he IS out there, and he IS available; the others may be in hiding.
Someone's probably going to be thrown under the bus, hell, it almost has to happen. I'll volunteer, it's a small price to pay.
Economically, we need to redefine our country to be compatible with new technology and the new needs of civilization. Building cars and tractors is not where it's at anymore.

Right, Romney could fire everyone, sell off all of the US assets, make a bundle, then move to the Bahamas to run his tax sheltered company.

If he had CEO like powers he probably could make the numbers better but he is not committed to small efficient government evidenced by his track record. Obama's record is dismal too. Both are Fascists totally committed to the unholy alliance between big government and big business. This isn't free market capitalism but crony CRAPitalism which is really Fascism when you get to the root of the problem. Those who expect big government to curb their big business counterparts are fooling themselves. They both benefit from each other at the expense of the people. A snake with two heads.

I agree that both parties are at fault, but now that the front wheels of the car are well over the edge of the cliff the dems will not take their foot off the gas pedal.... the video only touches on the problem, Social Security and Medicare & Medicaid combine to consume something close to 70% of all federal revenues collected.. Currently we have 10,000 baby boomers retiring each day and this will continue for the next 19 years... only serving to further pressure the federal budget. So when the republicans tried to address this issue during the last few years, the democrats yelled and screamed that there is no problem that Ryan only wants to throw Granny over the cliff... That is hardly an attitude that will spare us the train wreck that is coming, nor is Grover Norquist's pledge of no new taxes, conservatives should be pushing for tax reform that cuts the favor out of the tax code while lowering rates and increasing the revenue stream to the government, but being hardly any better than the democrats of course we will not see the sincere efforts from either party to actually fix the problem... I guess that they just figure that they can keep printing money which is the worst of all paths.

Trying to have a serious discussion and as always some jackass from the left makes an inane remark.

I may be suggesting that ALL politicians are the source of our problem. Everyone else has to stop spending when the money runs out. They wouldn't dream of it!
Instead of having D/R fights, maybe we should be having spender/earner fights.
Keep in mind: If the Republicans go down, the Democrats go down equally. The abyss does not favor one over the other.
