I've had this lens for nearly a year and have used it on my a6500 a lot without noticing issues with focus hunting until today. Shooting in sunlight (f8 - f13), using center and flex-spot small (didn't try any other focus modes) I'm experiencing quite a bit of focus hunting despite having good contrast in the image. Wondering if this is indicating the need for lens repair? BTW, other lenses I'm using on the camera are not experiencing the same problems.
Thanks for thoughts in advance.
I had a similar problem years ago with my Nikkor 24-70 f2.8; turned out to be a micro-crack in the lens’ circuit board. The point is, you might want to send it in to be checked.
I have experienced a perhaps similar issue with my 35mm 2.8 when at small apertures and CONTINUOUS focusing..I get kind of a vibrating rapid pulsing in and out of focus..resolved by shooting single shot focus.
see what happens with other focus modes. if in all get it fixed or just get a new one

I don't know but I have the same problems. I like the images but problems like this drive me crazy. I've never had that problem on my a6000. I don't remember abut the a6300 with native lens. But it does occur with my a7r2.
