I passed your ideas about my friend talking to the lady of his dreams. He liked the idea of going for coffee, but he extended it to asking her out to lunch. He just told me, and he hasn't gotten a reply from her yet, but I'm wishing him luck. I'll keep you informed. : )

The only important question here is ... does she play the ukulele?

How did he ask? E-mail. text, snail mail? I would do it in person if I were in contact like at a meeting, church service or other such thing. Many people our age don't check email or texts as often as we who are addicted to tech! She may not have even seen the invite!

Most women in that age category are very "date shy".

My friend doesn't, so it doesn't matter.

I don't think he even has a real camera. : )

Sounds good. Did you know there was a record tall wave recorded 400 miles south of you? It was measured at 78'.

Yes, surprisingly, I do have a friend or two. : )

I posted a question a couple of days ago about this guy - about 70 - who likes a lady around the same age. They've been good friends for years, but he'd like to take it one step farther.

As it turns out, he emailed her and asked if she'd like to meet him for lunch at a local diner. "Raincheck - can't tomorrow." So now he's stuck. Did she really have something to do, or did she get suspicious of his intentions? Once again, he's undecided about what to do. Poor guy.

As it turns, she's a whiz with tech. It's amazing how much she gets done on her cell phone. They're well matched in that area.

They are afraid. You need to sell yourself. It is quite difficult. They haven't been in a relationship for ---- ever. Good luck because each one is unique. Just like every body else.
